Wang Qingyu will turn 89 this year, and a group of Jinjing Qigong disciples from the USA and China will visit him on May 1st in his retirement home at the foot of Mt. Qingcheng to celebrate this birthday with him. For everyone who has become familiar with Wang Shifu’s larger-than-life personality and the implausible stories of his life as an orphan, training in the esoteric arts during tumultuous times, and emerging from exile in Eastern Tibet to become one of China’s most celebrated Daoist healers—either in person during one of our many China trips, in the USA or Germany, or by watching one of his many video lectures recorded during the last 20 years—this video provides an opportunity to join the celebration in spirit.
This informal talk represents a remembrance of Wang Shifu’s own teacher, Li Dao, the Daoist hermit, martial artist, and bone healer who raised and trained him during the years 1946-48. We honor both of their legacy and lifetime achievement by sharing this deeply emotional lecture with you.
